Nila soru is also called moonlight dinner. In the olden times, all the family members would gather on their home terrace or veranda under the moonlight to have dinner together. It was a tradition followed by our parents' and grandparents' generations.
We are living in the busy era and fast moving lives often take priority over the concept of Nila soru or Moonlight dinner. Nila soru may seem like a distant memory for this generation people. Those who grew up in older generation, it was a cherished moments that brought families together under the pleasant light of the moon.

Raja shared about his cherished Nila Soru dinners memories, Raja grew from a family of ten siblings. In those days, having a large family was not a shocking but normal. He said that dinner is the only meal we all will have together as a family everyday.
While emphasizing on environment and surrounding of the family he said "As the sun sets, all the family members would gather on the veranda or terrace or near the garden of our home under the dim and calm moonlight. My mother, grandma and aunties would be preparing the dinner. I was raised in a joint family, where my family and my uncle's family were living in our grandpa's house. So, it was not easy to prepare dinner for the whole family."

Every Nila soru dinner was a cherished wonderful moment for our hearts, the moments are still young in my hearts. All the children in my family would be eagerly waiting for the two rice balls from our grandma. Sometimes all of us won't get enough food, but the love and care fulls our tummy and heart, he added.
Raja highlights, "The true moonlight moments was when our grandpa would distribute the sweets.The excitement would build a peak when our grandfather comes with an offer to every kinds in the family. The treat and the offers taught us how to share and care, it created a bond of affection among us. Those moments stays as a cherished memories of our lives"
In today busy and fast moving world, Nila soru has turned into a fantasy for many people. Raja said that, sometimes he doesn't get to relive those moments with his own family. and he also highlights that, in the goal of being productive, we are losing the essence of happiness in our life.
Nila soru was more than just a meal, it was a family celebration and joys of togetherness. It is a reminder for all of us to live every moments of our life and to cherish it. Live the moment and do not regret it later, said Raja.
